Mayor of Tema

Hon. Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La, prior to his appointment as the Mayor of Tema, has held several leadership positions. He was the Tema District Vice Chairman of Maritime and Dockworkers Union (MDU) of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), a position he held until his nomination by the president and subsequent confirmation as the mayor. He also served on the National Management Committee of MDU as the representative of all Container Terminal in Ghana after rising through the ranks to become the Delivery Coordinator at Tema Container Ltd

Between 2001 and 2004 Hon. Nii Anang-La was the Monitoring Officer at the Ministry of Food & Agriculture. He spent most of the early life of his career working in the Maritime industry.

A product of Presbyterian Boy’s Secondary School (PRESEC), Hon. Nii Anang-La holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Port, Shipping and Transport Management from the Netherlands Maritime University (Rotterdam). He obtained Higher Diploma in Port and Shipping Management from Regional Maritime University, Accra in 2004 after gaining his Diploma in Shipping, Export, Cargo Handling and Freight Forwarding in 2002 at the Institute of Export and Shipping Management (Accra). He holds several certificates from short courses in areas such as Local Government Administration, Political Communication and Marketing, Labour Studies, and Industrial Relations

Hon. Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La, hails from Tema (Manhean). He is a simple man with charisma and in-depth human resource and managerial background. He is married to Mrs. Emilia Nii Anang-La and they are blessed with four children.

Hon. Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La currently serves as President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), a nationwide association of all Local Authorities (Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies – MMDAs) in Ghana.
