Tema Metropolitan Assembly commemorated the 65th Independence Anniversary celebration
Tema Metropolitan Assembly commemorated the 65th Independence Anniversary celebration with pomp and pageantry as school children turned out in their numbers at the Tema Sports Stadium to March past.
The Ghana National Fire Service Regimental Band were in attendance to provide patriotic songs for the colourful ceremony.
Addressing the parade which attracted massive patronage from residents, Traditional leaders, Assembly members, teachers , parents and people from all walks of life,
The Mayor of Tema, Hon Yohane Amarh Ashitey, paid glowing tribute to the big six and all who worked tirelessly to dismantle the shakles of colonialism.
Hon. Ashitey called on all and sundry to put theirs shoulders to the wheel to make Ghana a prosperous nation.
Awards were presented to the participating schools and organisations. Deserving awardees were given citations, laptops, sets of jerseys and many others
The celebration was under the theme "Working together, bouncing back better"
