As part of the Assembly's drive to rid the City of unauthorised structures, the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon.Yohane Amarh Ashitey, yesterday led the TMA Task Force on a media tour to sensitise owners of affected structures and to appeal to them to voluntarily evacuate before the set date for the planned demolition exercise.

The exercise which lasted for about four hours took the team to areas such as the entire stretch from the Motorway interchange towards the Tema Port, the TMA Head Office enclaves, and parts of the Central Business District.

Also included in the exercise is the squatter community within the premises of the Tema General Hospital. Their presence at the facility poses real danger not only to the medical staff residing there but also the patients who visit the facility, as there has been reports of robbery attacks on the hospital premises.
